SELF EVALUATION - answer these questions on your digital portfolio.
1. Describe how you created an interesting point of view? Was it successful? Why or why not? I made the gnome look as though he was living his gnome life by a mushroom. It wasn’t as successful as I imagined it would be but I still enjoy the photo. 2. Why is it important to understand perspective and how to draw it? This is one of the bases of drawing and art and without it the art would be very boring. 3. How were the pencil and perspective exercises important in the success of your piece? They helped me to see value and how to blend that were both used in my final piece. 4. Describe the craftsmanship of your piece. What techniques were used? (How well the project is technically crafted). I used my kneaded eraser to lift color and create dimension. I also used different softnesses of pencil for the same reason. 5. Were you able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middle ground and back- ground? Explain. Sort of. The grass was everywhere and didn't have much depth as I didn't draw each and every blade. 6. Explain your experience with using perspective and the project in general. What were the obstacles and advantages? The obstacle was trying to stick with my idea even when I was not into it and saw flaws. Perspective photos are fun to take but drawing them is very different. 7. Looking back on the progression of this project, what skills, techniques or other information would you like to have been taught? Do you feel you were prepared for this project? I would’ve liked to have been taught more about how to add the correct amount of detail without making it take hours, like what is important to focus on. I felt prepared other than with the time constraints. Self Reflection Questions
Colored Pencil/ Pastel Opacity Project
I like these much better than the Blind Contour Drawings, obviously with being able to look I could more accurately proportion and add detail.
Blind Contour drawings using a Sharpie pen. Ran into problems trying to go back and add depth when forgetting where everything was.
