Initial story card and character design I started with a storyboard and then began the animation on flipagram. I had to do it in multiple projects because it kept crashing and pieced it together at the end in iMovie. before that i went back and added things like the title and music. Music was spotify royalty free and the fall was hitting the floor with a book. Last I changed the speed of the shaking also in iMovie. Principals used: - squash+stretch when the apple falls (flipagram has a shadow of the past slide making this easier) - timing, the fall was few frames while the pans were a lot in attempt to make it not so choppy - straight ahead animated - anticipation, with the apple shaking (did a different flipagram at 20 fps and in post changed the speed more) - arcs, with apple fall - staging, zooms on the apple and eyes (used lasso tool and shrunk it and filled in I like stop motion but it is a big undertaking and needs lots of planning unlike a single piece where you can add as much detail as you want and only have to do it once. It took around 2 weeks to make a 40 second video and it still is choppy. it definitely makes me appreciate animation a lot more. Storyboard

For the first one i wanted to use a bunch of items that i like to make a scene and add more interest. the 2nd my sister wanted to have one of her so this is what we ended up with. The hardest thing for me in this project was lighting i realized after doing the one with my sister i would much rather use natural light but by the time i got my sister to help me drop the silly bands it was darker so its definitely something that needs planning and thought.
Becca modeling swinging something (watch?) fruit
Nick outside/yawning Baking (pour a tablespoon and loop) wind blowing through the window (kitchen) I chose the label because i wanted to be able to bring it to school as well as i wanted it to be something sweet. I wanted to make a label that would somewhat be like what is in the container. to make the slime I made a water droplet from instructions on a YouTube video. It ended up being around 164 duplicates of it. A lot of the layout is the same so it would fit/look the same. I think the most successful part is the back because there were many pieces I could add in to fill the space. I would change the ingredients list or the layout of the front because I couldn't find the correct font and I wasn't able to format the "spoiled milk" to be small because it lost its detail.
A lot of this photo was white or blown out making the overlay not work as well because of the lack or texture. to try and make it better I chose a darker color pallet and darkened the photo a bit. If I could change anything it would either be to do a different photo or I would have defined more features of the image like the text and pots. I did another quick try at it to get a more detailed skin and color array.
The one girl lives alone in this house. I didn't really have a plan but I wanted it to be watermelon and decided on slices. To make it look more realistic I decided to make the watermelon overlap over the doors and windows using the clone tool. If I could change anything it would probably be not using the burn tool so heavily because after i did it so many times it was difficult to reverse when realizing it was too dark as well as get a better ability to know where to place the shadows.
My theme was based off of a band called the Studio Killers and i decided to pick it because I'm really inspired by their character design and songs. my favorite pattern is the t shirt because I feel like it looks cohesive and I like the individual characters being more featured at the bottom. This project was difficult because I worked on a very large file and to bring them to a much smaller pattern I had to work around the blurriness and find a way to fix it. i would recommend to be realistic about what you can accomplish in the time you are allotted. Originally i wanted to do 3 Cherrys and full bodies for the animals, but i knew i would never finish so i compromised.
